We are a traditional family company with six generations of experience and expertise in olive farming. Manolis gives his name to this quality product safe in the knowledge it is amongst the best in the world. After he studied economics and worked in Athens he returned to Crete as his heart was always with the olive trees of his family
The time honoured methods of producing are used to achieve the best organic olive oil, even though this means more care is needed to look after the 950 trees on the four and a half hectares.
In the summer the family has not only to give water to the fields and to cut the herbs from under the trees, they also have to use an organic way of dealing with harmful insects. The fertilisation of the trees is totally organic with no chemicals used.
Because of the lack of chemicals the trees yield a smaller harvest and have to be gathered by hand and all processes must meet the strict rules of BIO Hellas who test the ground, the trees and the oil. The olives are gathered the traditional way and then taken only to certified mills and using the same time honoured methods top quality olive oil is produced.
We use only the koroneiki olive tree which although do not yield the most fruit gives a rich and flavourful oil.
